Scope Of Work
WellStar Acworth Health Park added a one-story building that connects to the existing structure. The addition is approximately 25,000-sq.-ft., which includes the build out of an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), clinical space and support space.
The ASC contains 3 operating rooms and 3 procedure rooms, with one of the procedure rooms being sized and outfitted for a future operating room. The center also includes 15 pre-op and post-op rooms, central sterile processing and storage space, and a frozen section processing area, as well as on-site pathology and a pharmacy.
The ASC provides residents with convenience and comfort, offering more of a hospitality feel than that of a sterile medical facility, further putting them at ease during procedures. The center offers numerous outpatient surgical procedures, including general surgery, colorectal surgery, gynecology, urology, podiatry, ENT, orthopedics and interventional spine pain management.
