Scope Of Work

When Caesar’s Entertainment wanted to construct a new casino in Indiana, they looked to Pepper to build a structure that complied with existing riverboat casino regulations. Pepper delivered, constructing the largest floating facility in the United States. To ensure that the building could float, six barges were prepped with components of the casino’s structural steel frame before being transported to the Hammond Marina and joined together to form the foundation for the 350,000-square-foot casino and convention center. While the barge modules were being fabricated, Pepper dredged the existing six-foot-deep marina, increasing its depth to 16-feet to accommodate the new vessel. As a result, more than 70,000 cubic yards of sand were removed from the marina and transported 2,000 feet away, creating a new half mile long by 100 foot wide beach for the City of Hammond. The casino features space for slots, games and several restaurants and bars, and the convention center features a main stage and banquet facilities with capacity for thousands of guests. The project also included minor renovations to the parking lot and other facilities to ensure for the ultimate guest experience.
