Project Description: This project involved the renovation of the Alice Deal Middle School in Washington, DC. The project gained great public attention due to the high quality of the finishes and the exceptional relationship which the W.M. Schlosser Co. had with the DC Public School System.
Additionally the project won several awards including the the Craftsmanship Award in the Finishes/Plaster category by the Washington Building Congress.
Many of the original design documents were changed, due to numerous change orders initiated by the DC Government. As a result, the project evolved into a design-build project. We redesigned many architectural elements, including floor finishes, doors and windows.
Major trades included: millwork and cabinetry; exterior trimwork; spray fireproofing;
window replacement and refurbishment; drywall, acoustical and plaster work; radius sound diffuser panels and acoustical wall panels; terrazzo, ceramic tile; athletic wood floorings, resilient and carpet; painting and high performance epoxy coatings.
