History

Top Line Construction began serving the New Jersey construction market in 1991 when it was founded by its President,
Rui Castela. At its inception, the company employed approximately 15 people and was primarily a site concrete
sub-contractor. Numerous general contractors utilized Top Line when installing various types of curbing, sidewalks,
walls, and other such projects for school, residential development, and commercial contracts. During this time, Top Line Construction earned a reputation as a sub-contractor who delivers quality and dependability.

In 1999, Steven and Mark Castela joined with their father as owners and officers in the company. Steven had completed a B.S. in Finance from the University of Connecticut and Mark his B.S. in Construction Management from the Wentworth Institute of Technology. Rui’s experience combined with Steve and Mark’s shared drive for growth as they ushered the company into a period of expansion.

At this point, the company decided to transition from a sub-contractor with commercial clientele to a general contractor in the public sector. Over the next eight years, Top Line Construction Corp. developed into a full-service Road and Site Construction Company serving various local and county agencies. Today the company, which employs over 55 people, specializes in Asphalt Paving, Milling, Grading, Excavation, Underground Utilities, and Site Concrete. Top Line Construction’s dedicated owners and employees continue to uphold the company’s reputation for quality and dependability by exceeding the expectations of their commercial and government clientele.
