Scope Of Work
Thornton Construction carried out a series of upgrades at two assisted-living compounds operated by the nonprofit Lifespace Communities, Inc. Part of the scope called for the replacement of all exterior glass envelopes with new impact resistant glass to meet updated hurricane standards. Additionally, the interior of ten apartments totaling approximately 7,000 SF were renovated.
The apartments are part of a residential retirement complex that offers open floor plans taking full advantage of South Florida’s environment, overlooking natural trails and gardens. These retirement communities promote wellness through interconnecting health centers, exercise areas, swimming pools, concert spaces, and classrooms with a goal to stimulate the mind as well as the body. A variety of care options are available depending on individual special needs.
