Garlock Sealing Technologies needed to update their in-house laboratory facilities. After reviewing plans to renovate the existing laboratory area, they decided to instead convert unused office space in an adjacent building as the most cost-effective and feasible option. C&S provided a turnkey design-build solution to convert the existing office space into a laboratory facility. The overall project scope included engineering, the demolition of existing office space, installation of under-slab utilities, reconfiguration of wall/room spaces, installation of laboratory equipment, and installation of a new HVAC system. The HVAC system consists of a ground-mounted package rooftop unit to service the new laboratory area. A ground-mounted unit was chosen to alleviate structural limitations as well as provide ease of serviceability for the end user. The new laboratory was completed and commissioned within schedule and within budget creating a user friendly facility with state-of-the-art equipment.
