Scope Of Work
Balfour Beatty is the contractor responsible for delivery of the Jimmy DeLoach Parkway project that will improve travel time and accommodate increasing truck traffic to and from the Port of Savannah. The project includes the replacement of the intersection of Jimmy DeLoach Parkway with US 80/SR 17/SR 26 with a grade-separated interchange and includes building a new bridge over US 80. The scope also includes the widening of Jimmy DeLoach Parkway from the I-16/SR 17 interchange to Pine Barren Road, which encompasses widening one bridge and constructing another.
Scheduled for completion in October 2021, the contract includes six bridges, 900,000 cubic yards of earthwork, concrete and asphalt paving, drainage, utilities, 10 CIP box culverts, flatwork, guardrail and lighting.
The project is part of the GDOT’s 10-year Major Mobility Investment Program, which maintains existing roadways and bridges and addresses congestion along key freight and mobility corridors to prepare for increasing freight traffic.
