Scope Of Work
One of CyrusOne’s fastest and largest ground-up data center projects to-date, this greenfield project includes a 600,000-sq.-ft. data hall with an additional 50,000 sq. ft. of office space on the 40-acre site. This project, which is the first phase of work on the site, also included the build-out of a 60,000-sq.-ft. data hall within the structure, totaling 9MW of white space, as well as all associated mechanical and electrical support rooms, eight generators, eight UPS containers, 20 CRAHs, 48 PDUs and eight air cooled chillers. The facility also features a high-end lobby with a striking double helix light fixture that looks like a piece of modern art.
The new building is one of the largest single data center structures in Ashburn, Virginia, termed “Data Center Alley,” an area of Loudoun County known for hosting 70 percent of the world’s internet traffic. The roof alone of the massive building is large enough to fit five football fields!
