Scope Of Work
Project Description: Complete construction of an 18,000 square foot chapel on the base at Fort Lee in Petersburg, Virginia. T. A. Sheets Mechanical was the General Contractor. The project was a Hubzone set aside. This project involved site layout, design, and construction. Project involved design for Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Civil, Fire Protection and Mass Notification System as well as a Communication System, all of which had to meet LEED Criteria for Silver LEED Certification. TAS self performed approximately 50 percent of the overall construction with its own forces. The building was a pre-engineered metal structure with masonry exterior. The interior is metal stud walls, concrete slab on grade, painted Gypsum Wall Board, and acoustical ceilings. The Project also involved the design and installation of an Audio/Video system which was tied into all of the rooms in the building and included remote drop down screens and real time interactive video presentation. LEED Silver Criteria was met and the project was one point short of a Gold Certification. The project was completed without any Safety incidents which TAS was recognized for.
