After almost 10 years of being under an umbrella of famous San Diego craft beers, Cutwater Spirits is now its own entity! This new company needed to relocate to a permanent location and chose Beerimar (as Miramar is affectionately known amongst the craft beer community) as its home. The 50,000 square foot building was remodeled from top to bottom with every detail right down to the floor considered in the thoughtful design. Having worked with the management before, they knew who to call for the floor coatings.

Cutwater Flooring Solution

Life Deck was contracted to install Dubro Quartz throughout various areas including the kitchen, behind the bar, and in the lab. The double broadcast of quartz sand into this epoxy system not only adds strength but also a decorative element to this USDA compliant system. The seamless floor is now easy to clean and requires little maintenance.

The production area not only needed to stand up to the wear and tear that comes along with canning, storing and shipping beverages but Cutwater staff also gives tours through the facility. The floors needed to be aesthetically pleasing, while able to withstand spills and forklift traffic. After patching and prepping the existing concrete we installed Fast Stain Grind Stain Seal and sealed it all in with two coats of water-based stain polyurethane, this system is ready to perform for guests and factory workers alike.

We also installed yellow safety lines around equipment and in doorways to provide a precautionary warning for staff and visitors. Out on the deck where you can sit and lounge there’s a large concrete firepit that we sealed. Sealing not only protects but really brings out the natural beauty of the aggregate found in the concrete.
