Scope Of Work
Bortech was contracted to tunnel a 42-inch steel casing pipe through granite rock formation. Bortech chose the Small Boring Unit (SBU) Method for this project. Mainly due to the rock compressive strength was under 25,000 psi unconfined compressive strength. Bortech worked with the designer of the SBU in the 1980’s when they were on a project in Leesburg, VA.
