Scope Of Work
Kenseal partnered with WR Grace to supply products (Florprufe 120, Procor 75) for this project. The building, designed by William Rawn Associates, will provide music rooms, a dance studio, technical theater spaces, two full-size basketball courts, workout spaces, and five squash courts. The new building will also host a 500-seat theater, several communal areas for students to study and meet, and an academic wing with new classrooms.
In the fall of 2013, crews erected steel beams, posts and decking along the length of the building’s footprint—about a total of 600 pieces of steel. They also erected about 40,000 square feet of decking, which when put together, equal about 110 average size classrooms! The structural steel and decking work together like puzzle pieces, as one holds the other in place. In a two-day span in December, crews poured 220 yards of concrete foundation walls, equal to 22 full-size concrete trucks. After they are poured, the walls were waterproofed to protect them from moisture in the ground and from precipitation. You can check all the action of the construction site with their live web cam. We look forward to spring and seeing more of the finished project!
