Scope Of Work

According to George Washington, “a primary object should be the education of our youth.”

Kenseal Construction Products followed our first president’s wise words in a recent project at The George Washington University (GW). Brian Heil, sales representative, Kenseal  partnered with Dow Corning, Tremco and Nomaco to supply multiple products for a state-of-the-art Science and Engineering Hall at the University. The new building is planned to be a four-year construction process with three major phases: excavation, sheeting and shoring from late 2011 to mid-2012; construction of foundations to grade from mid-2012 to early 2013; and construction above grade to completion from early 2013 to late 2014. Building occupancy is anticipated by early 2015.

This new wing will be a research and teaching hub in the heart of Washington, D.C. aimed at fostering collaborations across disciplines through a dynamic, hands-on learning environment bringing researchers together under one roof. The new facility will offer top tier laboratories and teaching facilities and will nearly double the space of the Foggy Bottom Campus. Check out progress on the building in this short video.

The George Washington University grew out of President George Washington’s desire to establish a national institution of higher learning. Opening its doors in the nation’s capital in 1821 with three faculty members, one tutor and 30 students in a single building, the prestigious University has since grown to 25,000 students with 1,000+ faculty members spread over three campuses.

Kenseal is committed to fueling education and proud to be part of the development of the Science and Engineering Hall at GW. Thank you to our cherished partners, Dow Corning, Tremco and Nomaco, and to Brian Heil’s diligence supporting our customer allowing Kenseal to be part of this great opportunity.
