Scope Of Work

Kenseal partnered with sealant and waterproofing manufacturer, Pecora Corporation, to provide waterproofing sealants for the recently renovated Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, NC. The athletic park is home to the Triple A baseball team, The Durham Bulls, affiliated with the Tampa Bay Rays in the MLB. In late 2013, construction started  on more than $19 million worth of repairs, upgrades and renovations to the 18-year-old stadium. Among the listed items on the renovation plans: an expanded club level gathering room with monitors, seating and a kitchen; added concessions on concourses; added picnic-style seating areas; improved field lighting and an added ticket gate along the left field line.

The product chosen for this waterproofing project was Pecora DynaTrol II SG. This product is a two part, chemically-curing, cold applied and self leveling elastomeric sealant. It is very abrasion resistant and highly extensible to withstand long-term abuse and dynamic movement.  The  application was mainly on horizontal joints throughout the park. The project was on a tight time schedule with a goal to be complete before opening day on April 3rd, 2014.
