Our Story
ABOUT US For over 60 years, Regal Recycling has helped the community of Livingston County, Michigan, recycle, reduce waste and protect the environment while providing valuable industrial services and providing a boost to the local economy. Regal Recycling was purchased in 1993 by Vern Brockway. Since that time, the company has grown to offer two full-service metal recycling centers in Ann Arbor and Howell. In 2011, the company opened a new recycling center in Ann Arbor. This 4.5-acre facility and 10,000 square-foot warehouse will help us continue to meet the recycling needs of our community. Recycling scrap metal is an important part of protecting the environment. Recycling scrap steel uses 60% less energy than producing steel from iron ore, and recycling one car saves more than 2,500 pounds of iron ore, 1,400 pounds of coal and 120 pounds of limestone. In addition to scrap metal recycling services, the company offers nationwide transportation of rigging and heavy, container pick-up and delivery service, auto salvage for used auto parts, demolition, site cleanout and factory strip out services. Today, the company has more than 100 people employed in green jobs, with environmental protection and safety as our core values. We’re serving the community from two locations, and are about to expand to a third. Our company was created with the goal of providing much-needed recycling services in our community. Our employees safely and responsibly conduct demolitions, lessening the environmental impact on the surrounding community and helping prevent blight. We adhere to all safety, regulatory and environmental laws at our facilities and our membership in the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries is a testament to our commitment to safety and responsibility. Regal Recycling is a local, family-owned and operated business, with a strong commitment to the future of the community, environment, and quality of service. Regal is a member of the Howell Chamber of Commerce, a sponsor of the Fowlerville Family Fair and we also get involved with helping and sponsoring local church and school scrap fund-raisers as well as local Little League teams. We have a very friendly and courteous staff that is willing to answer any question that you may have. We have the highest respect for our customers and your needs and we are proud to assist companies and residences of every size with their recycling needs.
