Scope Of Work
This is the third Safeway we have completed with pervious concrete. Although this is a much smaller site than the others it still has 22,000 square feet of pervious concrete parking area. The store has been awarded a LEED Silver Certification, a designation given only to the buildings that meet strict standards of sustainable design, construction and operating practices.
Site storm water runoff is infiltrated directly into the ground to comply with the new water standards as required per the Department of Ecology and in keeping with emerging storm water management strategies to protect the Puget Sound. The design phases are to utilize pervious concrete in part or in a whole as Safeway’s growing commitment to managing site storm water using pervious concrete. Once again Safeway and the City of Seattle are doing their part in cleaning up the Puget Sound by going green.
