Our Story

McDonald Modular Solutions is a major supplier of commercial, institutional and industrial modular space, both temporary and permanent. Founded by Franklyn E. McDonald in 1930, McDonald Modular has remained a family owned and operated company for over 85 years. With innovative thinking, attention to detail, and dedication to outstanding quality, McDonald Modular has become a leader in the modular business.

Over the years, our industry peers have recognized our leadership. In 1976, Franklyn McDonald was elected to the RV/Mobile Home Hall of Fame. Then, in 1993, Bruce E. McDonald was recognized with an outstanding achievement award from the Modular Building Institute for his contributions to the modular building industry. Finally, in 2006, Bruce McDonald was inducted into the Modular Building Institute Hall of Fame. Many other honors and recognitions have been awarded over the years to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our employees and the quality of our product. For a full list please view our awards page.

The company has evolved around one primary goal: "to provide our customers with the best quality product and the best service that we can give at a competitive price."

To that end, our quality driven employees make sure suppliers and subcontractors provide excellent products and services. In 1999, that dedication was rewarded with an ISO 9001 Quality Certification. McDonald Modular was the first in the industry to receive this honor.

Today, in the ever changing and evolving modular business, McDonald Modular Solutions continues to lead the way.

We seek to continually improve the quality of our products, services and processes based on our customers' needs, and what is sustainable for the environment. We care not only about what we build, but how we build it.

That is why in 2009, McDonald Modular joined the USGBC (US Green Building Council) and educated several of our employees to become LEED Accredited Professionals. The USGBC controls all LEED certifications for building projects; modular or stick-built.

What kind of buildings can be LEED Certified? Only permanent buildings can be LEED Certified. We are so committed to sustainable building, our commitment is to set a new green standard using LEED principals as a guide for all new fleet buildings, and update old buildings to the new standard over time.

McDonald Modular is recognized as one of the best suppliers of modular space in the industry. Take a look at some of our recent accreditations and awards. We also maintain membership in many of the most respected modular building affiliations in the country to keep up-to-date on news and trends in the industry.
