Building Brand & Shelter with Awnings

The properties owned and maintained by The Samia Companies, LLC include older, historical structures in the Boston area. Each building has unique characteristics that must be considered in the design and construction of any system attached to the facade.

Atlantic Awning has been providing canvas awnings, canopies and enclosures since 1888, including some of today's historical buildings in the Boston area. As a manufacturer of custom awnings, including fixed, steel structures, we had the experience and understanding to take on each type of property The Samia Companies, LLC required, as well as the capability to design, construct and install the vast number of systems that The Samia Companies, LLC needed in the time frame desired.

In each case, atlantic awning designed curve-framed fronts that clearly displayed the street number of the location and a decorative highlight to provide brand distinction. Every awning was customized for the location, but kept the consistency of brand identity with color, shape and styling.

Established more than 40 years ago, the Samia Companies, LLC is one of the leading real estate management companies in the Greater Boston Area. With more than 3,400 tenants at over 25 locations, their properties are some of the most well-known, safe and affordable properties in the city.

Each of the Samia properties has an entry or walkway that required shelter and protection from the elements for tenants and visitors. In addition, the company sought consistent branding and recognition of their properties to help build customer loyalty.

The Solution

By working with Atlantic Awning, the Samia Companies, LLC created custom, sheltered entries that shielded tenants and visitors from rain, sun and snow and provided protection for the entryways themselves. Each fixed structure awning was customized in size and shape to work with the style of the building and need for area protection. In addition, the company used the awnings as part of their local brand recognition with consistent color, type and styling at each location.
