FITZPATRICK & ASSOCIATES, INC. was established as an estimating and consulting firm in 1973 by John R. Fitzpatrick, serving Architects and Contractors in all aspects of construction through 1976. In 1976 the company was awarded its first project as a Construction Manager for a $1.5 million additional to the Elizabeth General Medical Center. Since then the company has completed over 1,000 Projects exceeding 1 billion dollars in value.

Fitzpatrick & Associates, Inc. has continued to experience growth. Construction volume continues to increase as the company has grown from an original core group of 5 employees to now over 50 key personnel.

While creating a niche in the healthcare & institutional sector, Fitzpatrick & Associates has been able to diversify itself throughout several markets, continually increasing their repeat clients, including Atlantic Health Systems, Princeton University, Deborah Heart & Lung Center, Bayshore Community Hospital, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Trinitas Hospital System, Monmouth University, Overlook Hospital, Morristown Memorial Hospital, Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, FedEx, and Hartz Mountain Industries.  Fitzpatrick & Associates works not only with private clients, but been very successful in the public sector, completing a vast number of publicly bid projects.

While performing work exclusively in NJ, Fitzpatrick & Associates has established themselves as a top contractor in the state. Fitzpatrick & Associates has been named “General Contractor of the Year” three times by American Subcontractors Association of New Jersey, and been listed as one of the Top 400 Contractorsnationwide, according to Engineering News Record.

In 1994, Michael A Hintz, was named President of Fitzpatrick & Associates.  Mr. Hintz has been with the company for over 30 years. Founder, John R. Fitzpatrick still plays an active role in the company as Chairman of the Board. His four sons, Mike, John Jr., Timothy, and Joseph have each worked for the company for more than 20 years.  Mike has been the Vice President since 1994.  John Jr., Timothy, and Joseph serve as Project Supervisors for the company.

Fitzpatrick & Associates prides itself in being both large enough to lead and coordinate a project team on large scale projects, yet small enough to ensure the attention of the firm’s principles.  The high incidence of repeat business from many of its clients is a strong indicator of the firm’s success.
