Scope Of Work
We completed a 330 LF of 36" drive at a grade of .25% under Route 54 and the adjacent levee. The extremely wet soil conditions and precise grade made this bore extremely challenging. The 36" casing was slip lined allowing no room for grade adjustment using casing spacers. Kempton Excavating employed the use of a hydraulic steering head coupled with the traditional auger boring method to complete this project on line and grade. A 115 LF x 36" bore under the railroad, and a 150 LF x 24" bore under Rte 11 were also part of the contract.
