Presented to Kimball Construction Company for the MDOT MTA MARC BWI Rail Station Project.
Kimball Construction served as the Prime General Contractor for the renovation of MTA’s Ticketing Building renovation project at the BWI Airport. As one of the east coast’s busiest stations – offering MARC, Amtrak, bus services, and free shuttles to their airport and light rail – the outdated station was unable to accommodate the volume of passengers.
The $4.5M upgrades include an upgraded partition layout for the ticket offices, 70 passenger waiting area, windows, outdoor canopy’s, ADA access, new sidewalks and taxi drop off loop, and retail space. Also included in the upgrade was new fenestration, roof replacement, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical replacement. All rail and services continued throughout construction so KCC performed pedestrian accommodations, vehicle traffic control, and strategic equipment delivery and storage at the jobsite.
Provided the project was completed at the airport, the facilities were heavily secured and had restricted access.
