Ready Mix Concrete, sand & gravel- great prices any size loads-  call today! Herbert J. Hinchman founded this company back in 1928, starting out as a supplier of sand, gravel and coal. In 1938 he began to manufacture ready mix concrete. In those days most of the concrete trucks were run by ‘owner-operators’ who would bring their trucks to load at Hinchman’s plant. After World War II, Herbert’s son Ronald J. Hinchman got involved in the day to day operations of the company, which operated a sand and gravel pit and produced Ready Mix Concrete. Ronald eventually took on full responsibility of Hinchman Concrete, freeing Herbert up to pursue some of his many other interests.

 By the time Herbert died in the 1970’s his grandsons were already active in the business. Donald’s (grandson and current owner) first job in his teens was sorting nuts and bolts for the mechanic and working on the crusher plant. Over the years he performed almost every job function in the business: From yard person, operating the loader, to becoming a mixer driver and delivering concrete, to being batcher/dispatcher in the office and eventually to becoming president of the company, in charge of the day to day operations of the business.

 Proud to be the third generation in a family business spanning 90 years, Donald tries hard to follow the examples set by his father and grandfather. Provide a quality product and good service at a fair price, and remember to give back to the community when possible. Today, Don is mindful of the example he sets for his children.
