Scope Of Work
The Potter Burns Elementary School Project was comprised of the complete renovation of the existing school building. ACC's work included the complete rehabilitation of the building envelope including new roofing, new windows, and a new main entrance with stairs, ramp and canopy. The project also included the installation of innovative electrical systems, lighting, hydraulic elevator, as well as new HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems, and new technology.
The interior of Potter Burns was completely demolished and refurbished with new interior walls and floors and finishes at the cost of $ 1,300,000.00; the existing windows and entrances were replaced at a cost of approximately $880,000.00 and the exterior masonry was repointed and restored. The project also included over $ 750,000.00 in hazardous materials abatement costs
Additionally, a new entrance plaza was constructed at the rear of the building leading to a new playground area.
Construction commenced in September 2016 and was completed prior to the opening of school in August 2017
