Scope Of Work
The Metropolitan Regional Career and Technical Institute is the home of Rhode Island’s newest secondary educational facility – The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. This new school building was constructed within the confines of The Met’s Public Street Campus on a site with environmental land use restrictions (ELUR). The first high school facility of its kind in the United States, The MET EC educates students through career experiences to provide them with the skills to develop, incorporate, and operate their own business. The 3,900 square foot post and beam building houses student workrooms, a conference room, offices, an art gallery at the entrance and a common “business incubator” space to serve student groups as they conceptualize their own small businesses. ACC completed this very innovative building on time and on budget while complying with NECHPS and RI School Construction Regulations.
