Dave was one of the first employees of the original Eagle's View
Construction in 1996, working very closely with our Founder, Shane
Donaca. Dave's experience in Framing and his insistence on quality
work was a cause for his rapid growth in the field to the point where
he was a Foreman and running large teams on large projects. At some
point he stepped away for a bit, continually growing in his expertise
in Construction until, eventually, he ended up in another construction
office working as an Estimator or Project Manager. In 2010, Shane and
Dave reconnected as though no time had passed between them and before
long Dave was standing beside Shane in Project Management and
Estimating capacities here at EVC.
It was Dave, and only a handful of others, sitting in the office on
that Monday after the tragic and untimely loss of our Founder in an
off work motorcycle accident. This small team stepped up with Shane's
wife, to continue the legacy of Eagle's View Construction as Dave took
lead on Project Estimation and Management. Since 2012, he's been in
the Estimating role as an active ingredient, watching EVC grow from
the $300k company that Shane managed to the well over $5M company that
operates today.
The words "It may not be the lowest proposal, but it's the
right proposal..." are heard frequently as Dave talks with
General Contractors seeking bids on the various projects he works
through. Dave was the primary driver in organizing what we call
"full boat proposals"; Meaning that EVC was beginning to
move away from our "Labor Only" approach and into
coordinating the full spectrum of material acquisition, delivery, and
installation of both the Div 5 Structural Steel as well as the Div 6
Rough Wood packages.
Though he's dedicated and you'd be certain to find Dave at the office
at hours well beyond what anyone could consider "Full Time",
he does have a life outside of EVC. Aside from being a proud Father,
and Grandfather of a boy and a girl, Dave is an absolute aficionado on
just about anything on ESPN and, if you get him anywhere near a boat,
he'll spend hours casting into whatever body of water could yield
fish. He is also dedicated to his volunteer work at the Sunshine
Project, and finds great value in making the world a better place.
