Scope Of Work

Allegrone was asked to prepare a scope of work to clean and repair one elevation of the historic Bellefontaine Mansion located on the renowned Canyon Ranch Resort in Lenox, Massachusetts. Constrained by the extremely short repair season at Canyon Ranch due to the resort functions and limited budget, Allegrone Masonry cleaned and repaired the entire west elevation of the Mansion. 

The repairs included a light pressure and chemical wash, repointing, custom copper gutter and cornice replacement, and was highlighted by the in situ reconstruction of the south lower balustrade system. Upon further inspection, cleaning, and deep scaling of the existing balustrade stones, the material was sound enough to be rebuilt using a system of epoxy micro crack injection and custom repair mortars. This method of repair allowed the existing historic balustrade system to remain in-place, and the overall project budget to be met. 

Allegrone continues to service Canyon Ranch yearly for repairs and a variety of small, medium, and large projects.
