Scope Of Work

Hawkins Construction renovated and upgraded the Metropolitan Utilities District’s Minne Lusa Pump Station at the Florence Water Treatment Plant.  Constructed in 1889, the pump station had undergone five major renovations prior to this project.  This renovation involved upgrading equipment and structural systems as well as restoring the original exterior aesthetic of the facility.

Hawkins removed and replaced the exterior brick around the majority of the building, reconstructed the original window openings, completely removed and reconstructed the main entrance, and replaced the metal roofing.  Due to the age of the pump station and the prior renovations, as well as the need to keep the facility open and operable throughout construction, much of the work required custom solutions.  Even in the face of significant challenges, the Pump Station was completed on budget and ahead of schedule.
