Scope Of Work
The new railroad overpass at Central Valley Ag’ Randolph, NE grain facility is both a time- and money-saver for the company. Now, instead of waiting while railroad cars are loaded and unloaded, trucks have constant access into the grain storage facility.
The overpass is made of a corrugated metal multi-plate arch with mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls. Originally designed to have auger-cast piles (drilled holes filled with concrete), Hawkins’ value engineering provided the ability to switch to H-piles (driven steel beams), which saved the owner thousands of dollars.
