Scope Of Work
This project, at the intersection of 108th Street and Platteview Road, involved adding turn lanes and lowering the elevation of the intersection to improve sight distances in all directions. The purpose is to improve safety for students and parents coming and going from Platteview Junior and Senior High Schools, located on the northeast corner of the intersection.
29,661 square yards of concrete pavement were poured, including driveways and temporary surfacing. 1,117 lineal feet of pipe was laid for drainage.
The main challenge of the project was scheduling road closures around the Platteview Public Schools calendar. Nevertheless, the project was completed ahead of schedule, with Phase 1 completed nearly 4 weeks ahead of the original design schedule.
