Scope Of Work
The Construction Management (CM) Contract for the modernization of the existing portions of Walter Johnson High School for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) was the fourth and largest in a series of 5 separate contracts partnered between Henley Construction Co., Inc. and MCPS over a 10 year period to fully modernize the complete school campus.
A $17M classroom wing addition and renovation of the existing media center and cafeteria/kitchen was completed by us on a hard bid GC contract in 2001. Due to the success of the earlier project, MCPS asked us to return in 2006 as the Construction Manager for a $7M renovation of the existing auditorium, which was recognized with an ABC Award of Excellence in 2007. During the summer of 2007 we were tasked by MCPS with a $1.7M CM contract to install 45 portable classrooms around the site that were used to temporarily house staff and students during the $52Million phased Modernization CM contract.
