Scope Of Work
The USC Upstate Library had previously been up-fitted with new fixtures in certain areas by in-house staff. The purpose of this project was to allow for the remainder of the first floor to be completed in a timely manner. Demolition began the day after graduation, including the lighting, wiring and acoustical ceiling system in the first floor. Once the ceiling, lights and HVAC diffusers were down, and the conduit and wiring was secured in the ceiling, new installation began immediately.
The new ceiling tile system was to be upgraded not only for aesthetics, but also to bring it up to current IBC seismic codes. The lights and HVAC had to be installed and secured accordingly as well. Over 200 lights were demolished and replaced during this project. The new lights in the classrooms and offices were installed with optical sensors to allow for energy conservation when not in-use.
