“What makes a Conlon project unique is our ability to look far beyond building to help our clients envision the purpose and mission of what they're creating,” Timothy Conlon says. “It's so much more than bricks and mortar – we work with architects and designers to find the right materials and style to make every structure not only functional but unique and powerful.”
Timothy believes that every building becomes a signature part of the overall community, exhibiting the hard Midwestern work ethic and rich history of a truly historic city with its own very special personality. Starting as a laborer with the company nearly four decades ago and rising through the ranks to company management, he sees his own personal mark on Conlon projects. In his current role, Timothy serves as Vice President and Secretary, responsible for a wide variety of managerial and operational functions.
“It's very humbling to see the ways that our company has helped to create the character of many cornerstone organizations and businesses in the area – we know that everything we do will continue to affect our community,” he adds. “So we always take the long-range view in terms of relationships, quality, service and more. We want the Conlon Family to feel the very same sense of community pride in another hundred years.”
Tim has been very active on a variety boards and committees, including the American Trust & Savings Bank, Hillcrest Family Services, Clarke University, Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque, Dubuque Museum of Art, National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium, Dubuque Chamber of Commerce, Stonehill Benevolent Foundation, Greater Dubuque Development Corporation and St. Mark Community Center. He is actively involved with the Master Builders of Iowa and has served as its President. He has also been involved with the Advisory Board Committees for the Northeast Iowa Community College, Dubuque Community School District and University of Northern Iowa.
In 2008, Tim Conlon was voted by the Tri-State Business Times as the second most influential person in their list of the Top Ten Most Influential People in the Tri-States. The award recognizes community leaders who are most likely to make things happen.
