Scope Of Work

Yates Construction provided construction services to the University of Alabama for the Residence Hall and Dining Facility project. The five-story, 162,000 SF student residential facility consists of 24 two-bedroom, one-bath units and 88 four-bedroom, two-bath units. Each unit has a kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator. A common kitchen is located on each floor, as well with an oven and stove. The first level includes a study room, game room and multipurpose room. Levels two through five each hold a laundry room, two study rooms and two lounges. Site amenities include a courtyard on the north side of the building with outdoor tables and grills. The one story, 8,850 SF dining facility includes a Chick-fil-A, Papa John’s, and Quizno’s Express, as well as a convenience store. A student courtyard and an open grass area with bike racks is located outside of the dining area. Construction details include a concrete foundation and an exterior made of precast concrete and brick with storefront glass. This project is pursuing LEED Silver certification.
