Scope Of Work

SHP designed a new two-story branch library as part of a planned town development. The interior delivers a modern, transparent library design. Several local community assets, including canvas murals and a large globe, were integrated into the building’s design.

Project Features

A community room highlights the entry tower, providing a very accessible and visible meeting spot for about 50 people, complete with video display monitors and a presentation AV system.

Housed within the library, the Smith Library of Regional History (3,490 square feet) contains historical archives for Butler Country and the City of Oxford. Specialized humidity controls and a dry fire suppression system protect the valued assets.

The technology-rich environment offers wireless technology, dispersed public access computers and iPad carts for use anywhere in the library.
