Scope Of Work
Final quantities for this project were approximately 208,720 square yards. Soils on this project included; CL, CL-ML, ML, SC-SM and SC as determined from the soil borings which were obtained by Thomas L. Brown Associates, P.C. The original specification was for lime stabilization, however based on Mark-Lang, Inc. extensive experience, the company requested the spec be reviewed and also proposed the use of Cement Stabilization as an alternative. Mark-Lang, Inc. hired Thomas L. Brown Associates, P.C. to prepare a mix design for lime, lime and cement, and solely cement stabilization. As a result, the decision was made for a more cost effective soil cement application. The soil cement stabilization was constructed using a mix-in-place, dry application method at approximately 89 pounds (8 %) per square yard.
