Scope Of Work

Stronghold completed this fast-track, $13.4 million design build renovation and new construction of a 231,382 sf industrial building on an 11 – acre site to develop a Regional Mail Delivery Distribution Center (DDC) for the United States Postal Service (USPS). This project required the construction of a 15,000 sf office and staff support area, 15,000 sf workroom and shop areas, and over 200,000 sf of work area for installation of various multiple mail distribution machinery. The project required the complete renovation and construction of all mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems, including security, data, and communication systems. Site improvements encompassed construction of ADA entrances and exits, staff amenities including exterior break areas, as well asa new parking lot and driveway re-alignment.

The design effort was managed by Stronghold throughout design and during the course of construction. To ensure completion of critical systems and features of work, given the fast track schedule, Stronghold phased the project to allow construction to proceed, as design continued. Notably, Stronghold installed more than 200 industrial lights and provided electrical output necessary to operate machinery. Stronghold self-performed all of the electrical and concrete work on this Project.

As a result of the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders, this Project was designed and completed within 10 months, allowing the USPS to open the facility for 24 hour distribution operation prior to the busy holiday season. Stronghold participated in weekly meetings with all parties involved in the execution of the project to ensure the highest quality of success in delivering the end product. The project was completed on-time and within budget and received an OUTSTANDING Performance Evaluation upon completion.
