Scope Of Work

Aldrich Arena, constructed in the late 1950s and early 1960s, was one of the first ice arenas built in the Twin Cities metro area, and continues to provide services for Ramsey County residents, including high school hockey, figure skating, recreational skating, concerts, and other ice and dry-floor events. The parking lot is used for a variety of events, such as weekly farmer’s markets, household hazardous waste collection, flea markets, storm debris storage, and driver’s education training.

This project focused on the maintenance, life safety and energy efficiency of the arena campus. Life Safety improvements consist of a fire suppression retro fit, fire alarm and replacement of the functionally obsolete electric service and panels. Energy efficiency was improved with new LED lights throughout the building and parking areas. Maintenance activities included a re-roof and rehabilitating the pavement in the parking areas. The parking area work was done in partnership with the Ramsey Washington Metro Watershed District and includes storm water management, plantings and place making.
