Scope Of Work

The Fire Museum of Greater Chicago is in the process of converting the original CFD Eng.123 Quarters into a safe and convenient refuge for fire service memorabilia. As part of the renovation, the original CFD Eng.123 Quarters was in need of a new roof  to help keep the memorabilia dry.

On November 6, 2010, the Chicagoland Roofing Council and the Roofer’s Local 11 Union, in a joint effort, organized a charity event to replace the roof of the new fire museum. With the current BUR system having a mineral aggregate surfacing, Vac-It-All donated their removal services. Ridgeworth Roofing, Roofs, Inc., DCG, and Adler Roofing donated labor services and equipment to tear off the existing roof down to the deck and install the new roof system.

As the new Fire Museum is located within the City of Chicago, the new roof system needed to meet the City’s current energy code. Dave Hamill of Hamill-Mullan Group, Inc. worked with Firestone to donate the necessary materials, which were delivered by Gemco Roofing & Supply, Inc.
