Bruce grew up in the roofing industry, beginning at an early age working for his father’s roofing business learning the shingling trade. Later on, he moved into the lumber industry selling material to homeowners, builders and developers in the Chicagoland area, eventually moving to Ft Myers, Florida to continue his career. After a few years in Florida, he returned to the Chicago area and acquired Standard Material Company, a distributor of commercial and residential roofing materials. Due to the economic conditions at the time, the business had to close. Over the next several years, Bruce worked for several leading local and nationally recognized roofing material distribution companies in a variety of capacities.
In 1998, Bruce purchased the Waukegan Roofing Company Inc., a well-established commercial, industrial and residential roofing company in business since 1914. Since the acquisition, the company has expanded to include a full service maintenance division and roofing related architectural sheet metal.
Bruce has been in the building materials and roofing industry for over 49 years, serving in numerous capacities.
Phillip has been with Waukegan Roofing for over 15 years and holds numerous certifications, such as GAF C.A.R.E. certifications, Air Vent ventilation expertise and many others. He is a graduate of the NRCA Future Executive Institute, and he is a member of the Chicago Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) Board of Directors and CRCA Emerging Leaders group.
Josh was “born to roof”. He can walk on almost any roof, no matter how high or how steep, and he excels at understanding what it is he is looking at and how to fix it right the first time. Josh has worked in the field as an installer, a service and repair man and also as an estimator. He has worked his way through the roofing apprenticeship program to journeyman roofer.
Josh holds numerous certifications, such as being an Air Vent ventilation expert and GAF C.A.R.E. certifications to name a few. He is also OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour certified, certified in asbestos handling and scaffold training and is Red Cross First Aid trained, as well as several other “hands-on” training courses from the industry’s leading manufacturers.
Sam started installing roofs 39 years ago, and has sold roofing materials, along with handling the technical inspection services, for many of the industries major manufacturers. He has a strong knowledge of manufacturer specifications, installation requirements, roof design details and the roof guarantee process. Sam understands customer service from a unique perspective of having been responsible for relationships with building owners, national accounts, governmental facilities, roof consultants, architects and also home owners.
Sam holds the OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour certifications, and he is a Johns Manville BURSI Institute graduate. He brings his vast experience and knowledge to Waukegan Roofing Company Inc. Sam is the Project Manager handling Commercial Low Slope and Steep Slope roofing projects.
Larry began his roofing career in 1980 as an apprentice, working his way up to foreman. Over the years, Larry honed his craft and found he enjoyed solving problems working in the “Service Department”. He became extremely efficient at finding leaks and fixing them. He became so proficient at it that he later became the Service Department Manager. In 2007, Larry joined Waukegan Roofing Company, Inc. and helped expand the company’s efforts in the service and maintenance business, where he continues to excel today.
Larry holds the OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour certifications, is certified in asbestos handling and scaffold training, is Red Cross First Aid trained, as well as several other “hands-on” training courses from the industry’s leading manufacturers.
