Fortress Steel

Fortress Steel Service Inc. was founded by James W. Edwards Jr. on December 1st, 1994. The first office was in his home in Townsend, De until he leased new offices and a fabrication shop in Newark, De in 1999. Currently, offices are still located in Newark but a new fabrication facility has been leased in Elkton, Md. Business has exploded and our services have increased to provide needed products for our customers.

Fortress Steel is unique in the fact that we are one of the few rebar installation companies that have expanded our scope of business to keep up with the times. We provide rebar, wire mesh, and all aspects of products necessary to install rebar. With the purchase of our new state of the art Schnell Barwiser and shear, fabrication and shearing are done on site to establish us as a full service rebar company. We fab it, ship it, and install it. We are also providing these services to many other companies in the tri-state area. We are supplying rebar and accessories to small and large companies that have found our service to be superior.  

Fortress Steel also fabricates miscellaneous structural steel, rails, imbeds, and bollards. We erect steel buildings and have a major part in many of the oil refineries in Delaware, Pa, and New Jersey. We have changed our focus of business to meet the needs of our customers and expansion is eminent. We are currently looking for new property to build corporate offices and new shop facilities. From its humble beginnings, Fortress Steel is a multi-million dollar company that envisions itself as a major player in the market of the future.
