Scope Of Work

In June 2001, WCI Communities, Inc broke ground on the luxury 48 residence tower, One Watermark Place, in West Palm Beach, Florida. When completed in 2003, WCI elected to add a 22 slip marina as an amenity to the property. For use exclusively by the residents of One Watermark Place, the marina was designed to berth vessels ranging in size from 46 to 120 feet in length.

The marina design features two 350 foot long x 10 foot wide main piers which are perpendicular to the bulkhead. Shoreline Foundation began construction of the marina with the northern marginal-dock pier. While the pile-caps on this pier were being formed, construction began 100 feet away on the southern pier. This pier included an aluminum baffle system, designed to dissipate the strong flow of current, and also featured 6 smaller finger pier docks, each measuring 55 feet long x 5 feet wide. The two main piers were connected by a 10 foot wide marginal dock which serves as a walkway and runs parallel to the bulkhead.

The concrete deck design features Ipe wood inlay panels which provide access to the utility runs below the deck. The concrete deck slabs and wood inlay panels were built at the Shoreline Foundation yard for delivery to the job-site. Pressure treated southern pine piling was specified for all fender and mooring piles. The addition of aluminum power pedestals and mooring cleats completed the project.
