Boulder removal and dredging in the Charlestown Breachway

Scope Of Work
The work was performed by Patriot Marine LLC and Ocean Marina and Specialty Diving Service Inc. of Winthrop, Mass. Using a special excavator with a super-sized 5-by-5-foot bucket, crews moved 212 cubic yards of boulders and dredged material out of the channel. A few of the boulders were too large for even the special bucket to lift, so they were left in the water but moved to the side, out of the way of boat traffic.
