Scope Of Work
Dec-Tam was a member of the team that addressed the Giant Tank improvements. As part of this project the aquarium relocated all aquatic life and the 200,000 gallon tank was completely drained, providing an opportune time to clean and delead the interior painted surfaces. After the tank was dried, four story scaffolding was constructed inside the tank. Dec-Tam then prepped the entire tank utilizing plywood, 6 mil fire rated reinforced poly sheeting to create a negative air containment within the tank. All interior concrete surfaces were sandblasted, removing all lead based paint. Next the area was HEPA vacuumed and all surfaces were decontaminated with a TSP solution. The aquarium remained open during this endeavor. With strategic off hour scheduling on nights and weekends, and additional noise dampening measures, the aquarium guests and inhabitants were well protected. Additionally, Dec-Tam abated asbestos on some associated pipe fittings and performed some spot lead removal on various I beams throughout the building.
