Scope Of Work

Complete structural and cosmetic renovation and rehabilitation of the 7-unit townhouse styled complex, once the personal residence of African American business pioneer Maggie L. Walker.

The project entailed the stabilization of 4 units prior to the structural repair work. These units required the incorporation of new plumbing, mechanical, electrical, sprinkler, fire alarm and security systems. Preservation of windows, doors and interior millwork was necessary along with installation of new doors and stairway, and the construction of a new exterior porch. Also installed was a high-pressure mist system engineered by Marioff, Inc. of Finland that was designed for the protection of the House and the original artifacts housed within. Erection of an elevator tower with a 4-stop limited access elevator was also installed.
