PROJECT FACTS
Camp Pendleton officials opened the Wounded Warrior Center with promises to offer services previously found only on the East Coast. Based on a similar program at Camp Lejeune, N.C., the center is designed to help Marines and sailors who are too well to be hospitalized but not well enough to return to their units or the civilian world. This is the first of its kind on the west coast.
