Our Story
Arco Gunite, Inc. in Orange, California, offers you the highest quality in wet process shotcrete construction.
Humble Beginnings
Arco Gunite, Inc., started its dry process gunite operations using an automatic Reed Gun and a 600 cfm Ingersoll-Rand compressor. We had the material delivered via a gunite mixing concrete truck. Within its first year of business Dean Norton began construction on a more efficient rig.
Successful Design
The fundamental principle from a design standpoint was the configuration of components Dean believed would outperform the rigs used in the industry at the time. The result was a rig able to produce a gunite mixture of 2000# psi. to more than 4500# psi and a pumping capacity of 28 tons per hour. The design proved to be so successful that Dean built a second rig in 1978 and a third in 1987, which is still in operation today in the state of Texas. In 2006 Dean designed and built three fully self contained mobile mixers and a rig to comply with California's strict environmental laws to protect our waterways. Fortunately, this was Dean's greatest design yet. After numerous tests performed the rig produced more than 7,000# psi dry gun gunite.
