Scope Of Work
This was the build out of a new Target Store to serve downtown Santa Barbara. This project consisted of the conversion of an existing open air market building to a fully enclosed Target Store. We used a 9' deep curtain wall system to enclose the open ends of the building. In addition, we also installed 120 lineal feet of smoke baffle on the 1st floor. A design challenge consisted of the 28 foot span and the weight of the completed glazing system which had to be supported by an existing 2nd floor balcony. We also had limited physical access to perform the installation as this store is located on a very busy corner with no space to park any aerial lift equipment. This required us to erect custom scaffolding to set the framing and the large pieces of glass for the curtain wall. This design gives the finished store an open feel with a lot of natural light.
