Scope Of Work
Huron Oaks Eating Disorder Clinic located on the campus of St. Joseph Mercy was developed to provide a highly individualized, start-of-the-art program for adolescents with eating disorders to make a full recovery. The staff at the center requested a $1.3 million renovation project be done to improve the center’s effectiveness to help the young patients.
CCC’s Interior Division was subcontracted to remodel three wings of the clinic, including patient rooms, eating area and recreation rooms. The scope of work for CCC included interior framing, drywall, drywall finish, door/frames hardware, wall protection and patient room accessories.
This two-phased project was completed in six months and CCC self-performed all work. The general trades work included metal studs, drywall, acoustical ceiling, floors, doors, frames, hardware, specialties, wall protection and expansion assemblies. All work was completed in occupied areas of the clinic, making the project difficult. Over 1,700 man-hours were logged on the project with no recordable safety incidents.
The result was a state-of-the-art kitchen and dining area where patients and families could prepare food and share meals together, dedicated music therapy and creative expression recreation areas, and updated patient rooms.
