Scope Of Work
Jacksonville International Airport is a civil-military public airport, and acts the gateway to the city of Jacksonville, Florida. The airport provides a world-class travel experience to the millions of passengers who move through the terminal every year. In 2007, the airport needed to increase the efficiency of their baggage handling system (BHS) to handle oversized bags. Jervis B. Webb, a leader in developing innovative material handling systems, commissioned CCC as the installation contractor to rework and install conveyor systems, as well as install a new make-up unit, for the handling of oversized luggage.
From March to June 2009, CCC reworked six different ticket counter conveyors and four different curbside conveyors, and installed two oversized conveyor systems and a new make-up unit. As sole installer, CCC’s installed approximately 900 linear feet of conveyors and one new make-up unit. CCC worked 7,086 man-hours during the four-month period without a single recordable incident.
