Scope Of Work
As Owner’s Representative, Calgi was entrusted by the Borough of Fort Lee to manage this project on their behalf and given the total responsibility over Construction Coordination, Architectural and Engineering Design Professionals and Financial Accountability. The project consisted of the renovation of two existing buildings totaling 30,000 SF, construction of 4,000 SF Lock Down Double Prisoner Transfer Garage and 56,300 SF of site development. We employed the services of Geotechnical Engineers to develop the requirements necessary to support the existing structure and directed the development of concrete filled steel pipe piles and wood end bearing piles required to support the existing and new structures. The new facility, for Fort Lee’s 100 man police force, includes: Cell Block with 8 men’s cells, 2 women’s and 1 isolation cell, State of the Art 911 Communication Center, Interview Rooms, Holding Rooms, Arraignment Rooms, Gymnasium, Emergency Command Center, Administration Suite, General Investigation, Narcotics, Juvenile and Traffic Departments. State of the Art electronic systems include Bar Code Evidence Storage, Closed Circuit Television Viewing including Video Traffic Monitoring, Isolated Security Access utilizing Palm and Card Entry, CAD Status, 2 Way Intercom and Aerial Fiber Optic Link to Borough Hall.
